Diane is a native of California. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree at California State University. She has been a life-long student taking classes in commercial art, drawing and other selected art mediums.

Diane first became serious about watercolor and mixed media in Houston, Texas where she received her first artistic recognition. She continued taking classes through the University of Houston and was an active member in the Watercolor Art Society Houston.

After moving to Overland Park, Kansas she became a member of the Greater Kansas City Art Association. Diane continued her studies taking classes at the Art Institute in Kansas City Missouri and the community colleges. She also took additional workshops under many well-known local and regional artists.

Since 2005 Diane has been working in Mixed Media and Encaustic. She has studied under Miles Conrad, Catherine Nash, Rodney Thompson, Kim Bernard and several other mixed media artists. She is very active in the Tucson art community. She is a founding member of Southern Arizona Chapter of Encaustic Artists.
